IN THE EVENT OF A WARRANT

Should a warrant be issued for an individual, whether due to missing a court date or failure to pay a fine, contacting the court clerk with a valid reason may possibly lift the warrant and new arrangements made. If no arrangements are possible, the warrant will stand.  Additional fees may be added along with court costs.  At this point the accused is subject to being arrested at any time.  If an individual is stopped while driving, the individual will be taken into custody and the vehicle will be impounded.
The warrant remains active until the individual is apprehended.  It is advisable to contact a bondsman and make arrangements for a “walk through” if possible, but arrangements should be made in advance when feasible to insure the least amount of time incarcerated.  Once an individual has knowledge of a warrant, it should be tended to immediately to prevent any compromising occurrences or any embarrassment to oneself, friends or family.
Once in custody and processed at the jail, the warrant is lifted and the individual is then able to be bonded out and may proceed freely to address the allegations, and have the ability to resume a productive lifestyle.
