Home » The Bail Bonds process

Once a person has been arrested, they will be taken before a magistrate to be arraigned and allowed a bail amount for their charge(s).  Thereafter the arrested individual or a friend or family member may contact a bail bondsman to arrange payment for a bond and have the incarcerated person released.  In some cases collateral may be required to insure the security the bond.
Once the bond is submitted to the jail by the bondsman, the release process for the person arrested will begin.  Upon release the bondsman will have documentation to be completed by the accused.   In some instances a cosigner will be requested by the bondsman to affirm the consistency of the client.
The client will be required to report to the bail bondsman as instructed until the case(s) are completed.  Should the client fail to maintain the bond conditions, it may give cause to have the bond surrendered and a warrant issued for the individual to be returned to jail.
When all court appearances are met and the case(s) complete it will no longer be necessary to report to the bondsman and if any collateral was received it will then be returned.
The objective of the bonds are to allow the accused the opportunity to address the allegations in court accordingly and ultimately resume a productive place in their community and society.
